Adobe Releases Security Bulletin to Address Flash Player Vulnerabilities

Adobe has released a Security Bulletin to address multiple vulnerabilities in Flash Player. These vulnerabilities may allow an attacker to bypass security restrictions or obtain sensitive information.

DarkFiber Consulting encourages users and administrators to review Adobe Security Bulletin APSB08-20 and update to Flash Player version 10.0.12.36 to help mitigate the risks.

Adobe Releases Security Bulletin for Flash Player

Adobe has released a Security Bulletin to address multiple security issues in Flash Player. Some of these issues may allow an attacker to conduct clickjacking types of attacks that could enable the camera or microphone through Flash Player. DarkFiber Consulting encourages users and administrators to review the Adobe Security Bulletin and upgrade to Flash Player version 10.0.12.36 to help mitigate the risks.

Malware Circulating via Spam Messages

DarkFiber Consulting is aware of public reports of malware spreading via spam. It has been reported that malware is spreading in spam messages related to the upcoming Olympics and to fake CNN news reports. If a user clicks the link to one of these fake news reports they are prompted to install a Flash Player update. If users attempt to install the update, malware may be downloaded and installed onto their system.
